1.9 CDTi – timing belt (Z19DTH and Z19DTJ engines) According to the manufacturer, the timing belt in this engine needs to be replaced every 100,000 miles or 10 years, whichever comes first. In my opinion, this is very optimistic.
i owned 2 pt cruisers 2001 and 2005 , both have timing belts, both the same 4 cylinder engine,at the cost of 800.00 dollars on each engine to replace. Reply A. Diduc says:

It moght be worth changing the boost control valve as well, these are also known to fail, causing overboost, which then pops the hose. The BCV is about £50 from the dealers and a 2 minute job to change.
Its my first post here and unfortunately quite a grim one for me. I bought 2012 Insignia 2.0 cdti manual a week ago from private seller. Car looked nice , tons of things done recently ( cam belt, clutch, flywheel, new brake pads etc ). Oil was changed correctly all the time and it had passed all the MOTs without any advisories.
